THE TOUR IN DETAILED
Day 01: Yangon (Arrival).
Reception at Yangon International Airport. Transfer to the hotel. Ride in interesting destinations like the city center of colonial architectural style, the golden pagoda Sule Mahabandoola. Later we go to CHAUK HTAT GYI, visit the giant statue of the Buddha lying at 70 meters long. In the afternoon, continue to the SHWEDAGON Pagoda – one of the most spectacular religious monuments in the world before finishing the tour in this picturesque city. It is truly a majestic Buddhist religious complex whose golden dome is 98 meters high and is covered with 60 tons of gold.
Overnight in Yangon.
Day 2: Yangon – Kyaiktiyo.In the morning, we leave Yangon, departure for Kyaiktiyo which is 190 kilometers from the West, enjoy the beautiful panorama along the way. End of the morning, we arrive at Kyaiktiyo and take a ride on a van that is open for an hour. A gentle hike to get to the Golden Rock, let’s enjoy the sunset from this beautiful place.One of Myanmar’s important pilgrimage sites is the Golden Rock at Kyaiktiyo, a huge boulder covered with gold leaves and balanced at the edge of a cliff. The Golden Rock pagoda is said to house a Buddha’s hair. Overnight at Kyaiktiyo.
Day 3: Kyaiktiyo-Bago-YangonAfter breakfast, travel by land to get to Bago (110 km) – the ancient capital that dates back to the 6th century. Trip to Bago in the attractions: the Shwethalyaung – there is a statue of the Buddha lying at a length of 55 meters, the Shwemawdaw pagoda built in Mon style which is considered the most venerated in Myanmar. Its 114 meter high spire is higher than the Shwedagon pagoda. Visit of the four gigantic Buddha statues sitting “Kyaikpun”. Return to Yangon by road, stop at the Taukkyan war cemetery where it contains the graves of 27,000 allied soldiers and is truly moving. Visit to a local bamboo factory. Return to Yangon at the end of the day.Meals: Breakfast.
Day 4: Yangon – Bagan.Transfer to Yangon airport for the flight to the former Bagan capital. Transfer to the hotel. Visit a vibrant local market, pagodas and temples such as: Shwezigon Pagoda, built by the order of King Anwrahta in the 11th century, the Gu Byauk Gyi, a temple that houses exquisite frescoes of scenes depicting Jataka or the temple of Khay Min Ga, known for its panoramic view on all the monuments of the area. Later, visit the Ananda Temple with four huge statues of Buddha standing and several drawings dispersed in the gallery.In the afternoon, visit to a lacquer workshop located near the village Myinkaba and discover Manuha Temple, built with the Mon style in 1059; we will pass to the Nanbaya Temple, a unique sandstone monument that is considered the palace of King Manuha. Myingaba Gu Byaukgyi temple, known for its ancient affreschi. At the end of the afternoon, boarding for a sunset trip on the Ayeyarwaddy River.Overnight in Bagan.
Day 5: Bagan – Mt.Popa – BaganExcursion with a magnificent panorama towards Mount Popa – an extinct volcano whose stupas dedicated to animists, also known as “Nats”. For those who are energetic, it could climb 777 steps up to the top of the volcano. Return and overnight in Bagan.Meals: Breakfast
Day 6: Bagan – Mandalay – AmarapuraAfter breakfast, transfer to the airport for the flight to Mandalay. As soon as I arrive, transfer to the hotel, accommodation. Transfer directly to Amarapura. Visit of MAHAGANDAYON, a famous Buddhist monastery where thousands of monks live and study; later a two-year teak bridge stop at BEIN, whose construction took place in 1782 when Amarapura was the royal capital.Visit the BAGAYA monastery with a superb collection of Buddha statues. Long-term stop at a traditional hand weaving workshop. In the afternoon, excursion to tourist attractions: Mahamuni pagoda with the statue of Buddha covered with thick golden leaves, gold leaf production workshop, tapestry production workshop. It continues in SHWE INBIN, considered one of the country’s major pious monasteries, SHWE NAN DAW KYAUNG or Golden Monastery, a superb example of traditional wooden building and KUTHODAW Pagoda, known as the largest pìu book in the world, comprising 729 slabs marble engraved with Buddhist scriptures. Sunset at the hill and overnight in Mandalay. (breakfast).
Day 7: Mandalay – Ava – Sagaing – MandalayExcursion to the former royal capital of INWA (AVA) after a short boat trip. Afterwards, visit of the Nanmyint control tower with the horse carriage, continue to the rest of a building called “the leaning tower of Ava”. We continue to discover the MAHA AUNGMYE BONZAN monastery, built in brick and stucco, followed by the visit of the BARGAYAR monastery, known for its impressive ornate wooden sculptures and teak seats. We climb the Sagaing hill – the retreat for the Buddhist faithful to enjoy the wonderful sunset. Overnight in Mandalay.Meals: Breakfast.
Day 8: Mandalay – Mingun – Mandalay.After breakfast, embark for a trip on the river AYEYARWADDY to Mingun (11km from Mandalay, it takes about an hour), visit the MINGUN bell that weighs 90 tons and is considered the biggest bell in the world. It continues to visit HSINBYUME PAYA and incomplete stupa MINGUN PAYA, the latter remains the biggest in the world that was built by the order by King Bodaw Paya. Overnight in Mandalay.Meals: Breakfast.
Day 9: Mandalay-Heho-Pindaya-Inle LakeTransfer to the Mandalay airport for the flight to Heho. Arrival in Heho, drive to Pindaya (90km – 2½ hours). Visit the unique Pindaya caves with thousands of Buddha’s drawings put there by pilgrims over the centuries. Overnight in Pindaya.Meals: Breakfast
Day 10: Pindaya – Inle LakeTransfer to Inle Lake (120 km – 3 hours). Transfer to the hotel by boat. Boat trip on the lake to discover interesting things: rowers who use their legs to control the boat, typical floating gardens, fishing and the daily life of the village. In the afternoon, continue to the PHAUNGDAW OO Pagoda, then the weaving village INPAWKHON and other interesting destinations. Overnight on the lake.Meals: Breakfast.
Day 11: Inn Dein.Excursion on the boat to the west bank of Inle Lake to visit the Inn Dein Pagoda, you can get there after following a stairway with magnificent columns.Overnight at Inle lake.Meals: Breakfast. Day 12: SagarExcursion on the boat to Sagar, passing the prosperous and peaceful village of Pa O, where the fishing boats moored on the shore have made this village a picturesque beauty.Overnight at Inle Lake.Meals: Breakfast.
Day 13: Lake Inlet – Hero – Yangon.Visit a vibrant local market in the Lake Inlet area. Moving to the airport. In the afternoon, flight to Yangon and transfer to the hotel.
